P.S. But that's why I like you.
P.P.S. (Pre Pre Script) It's called a joke. Get it? If not, then maybe you aren't part of my target demographic. And if you know who I'm quoting right now, you belong here.
Name's Jeff.
(Exposition: Often clips beginnings of sentences out of laziness. You officially know me well once you can predict reliably what word was meant to start a sentence.)
I like to think I've got a little bit of a lot of talents to talk about, but I'm an engineer by trade. It's the core of who I am, I guess you could say. When it comes down to it, I like to be efficient and I use the Scientific Method to figure everything out right down to the way I walk (I attempt to recycle as much energy as possible to make it cost me less energy over long periods. Yes. I'm lazy. Got it.) I'm intensely interested in any subject in which I can wield critical thought like a big stick. Knowing how to do it well makes me feel like a master of Kendo in a sea of kids swordfighting with twigs. Except trying to utilize Kendo skills while drowning in a frothing sea of hyperactive brats sucks. A lot. I think it is terribly important to bring critical thinking to the center-stage of society, and I try to enlighten people when I can, but sometimes I really can't help but be cynical. Actually, most of the time I'm cynical. I try to help people out, but if I had a nickel for every time I Picard facepalmed at poor logic I wouldn't have a massive student debt. Just a mediocre one. *sigh*
In my spare time, I do about 3 different things in order of priority: GM my Dungeons and Dragons game (or perform related activities regarding my campaign setting, Maw'Viya), fiddle with my computers and play video games, or play bass guitar and listen to music. Music is something that effectively pervades my life and I love it to death (dead music is more metal than metal, bitches) I spend too much time in thought to enjoy it as much as I want. Not that I get much free time anymore. To all you kids and university students out there: When your parents told you that work sucks more than school, THEY WERE RIGHT.
Ah, yes. Work. I recently finished my Bachelor of Engineering at University of Guelph after a short 5 years, and I've got out into the working world. Not as bad as I make it sound, really. Yeah, work sucks, but getting paid for my time instead of the other way around for once is pretty nice. I work in the field of software and mechatronics engineering, mostly interested in the interface between computer software and the physical hardware that it's controlling. To translate that into english: I test code used in fighter jets. Yes, I'm that cool. The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) in particular. Cutting edge stuff. It's pretty awesome.
Yup, that's me.
